Tips
This encyclopedia is a goldmine of knowledge about the history of Belgian women. As my research focuses on the history of the first generation of female architects in Belgium, it was a very precious tool to understand the historical context in which these women lived. A lot of the entries in this dictionary have indirect links with the thematic of architecture : Artistic Education, Women's Unions, Women's press, etc.
2. Artikel: Ada Louise Huxtable - Women in architecture
I discovered this article through the book of Despina Stratigakos "Where are the Women Architects ?". I always find it fascinating to read how feminist some architects and critics have been, in this case almost 50 years ago! Ada Louise Huxtable was the architecture critic of the New York Times and had a big influence on her contemporaries. According to Denise Scott Brown, she was one of the only critics to treat female architects fairly at the time
3. Boek: Urban.brussels - Het Handboek Openbare Ruimten in het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest
Last year, my colleague from L'architecture qui dégenre, Annabelle Hoffait and Apolline Vranken, were involved in the writing of that manual. As experts in the gender problematics surrounding public space, they could make very practical recommendations to make the Brussels public space more inclusive for everyone.
4. Podcast: Damn, Honey
