“I have an honor agreement that I invite clients to sign. One of the parts is about giving proper credits. [33] The most important part of the agreement I ask them to sign is that they will not knowingly engage in racist, sexist, heterosexist, ableist, transphobic comments or behaviour while we are working together in our meetings or in the design process. I want to take leadership for the kind of space we’re running. I won’t get the best work from the team if that space is not safe.”
“The honor agreement is not enforceable in any traditional sense. Rather, it is an invitation to the designer and the client to come into alignment around the true purpose of the work, and to bring that mission into practical reality from the inside of the creative process all the way into its material manifestation in the world.”
Enigbokan: “Even if you don’t implement it. Sitting down and doing the exercise to say: what are the four minimum requirements that I need to feel good and respect ed, what are the minimum requirements I need to do my best work? Write down your bottom line so you know when it’s time to leave a job and when it’s time to ask for some - thing you need.” 145
